Burgers in Vegas
I’m heading to Vegas in a couple of weeks for some dry heat and I can’t wait. Vegas – once the land of $9.99 steak dinners has since transformed itself into a real food destination – at least for those on expense or deep pockets. But seriously, almost all the most famous chefs in America have outposts in New York and Las Vegas it’s just unfortunate that most of their restaurants are pricey splurges. That’s why I was happy to read on Eater.com that Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich are opening B&B Burger & Beer in the Palazzo, taking over the former Rattlecan space; I’m sure this casual concept will offer an equally tasty but much more affordable option to their Carnevino Italian Steakhouse, a fine dining option in the Venetian. But Batali and Bastianich are not the only ones with burgers on the brain – apparently this is a hot trend with Daniel Boulud opening DBGB Kitchen & Bar in 2014 (focusing on gourmet burgers and charcuterie), Bobby’s Burger Palace (owned by Bobby Flay) coming to the Crystals, Umami Burger negotiating a spot at the SLS Hotel and Shake Shake planning to open in the remodelled Monte Carlo and New York – New York resorts. And of course, there’s always In-n-Out Burger which never disappoints.
