North East West at Fritz Hansen

Furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen has a great sense of both the importance of design and its place in the annals of design history. The company has recently launched a project space in its flagship store in Milan to exhibit art projects and experimental designs. Currently on display is North East West — an exhibition billed as a “cross cultural homage.” A highlight is these fantastic chairs designed by Tomoko Mizu that fuse a Japanese aesthetic with a scandinavian sensibility. Inspired by Arne Jacobsen’s Series 7 chair, Mizu reinterpreted the iconic mid-century design with an eye to the natural world and traditional craft techniques. North East West is on view until September 28th at the Fritz Hansen Store Milan. For more information click here
