Versailles in the Train

Until the end of 2014, five RER C cars travelling between Paris and Versailles will be decorated mimicking the stunning rooms of the Palace of Versailles, the opulent seat of Louis XIV’s power. Conceived as a project to encourage use of the RER, and also as an effective way to clearly mark the line’s final destination, travellers might be sitting in the Gallery of Mirrors, the library, the Queen’s bedroom or even areas of the magnificent gardens. A spokesperson has said about the project “One could imagine that with other touristic partners similar to Versailles installing an ambiance relative to other tourist destinations.” Looks like a fantastic way to travel in style.
